Frequently Asked Questions

Am I in the right place?

Everybody has trouble sometimes, issues they're struggling with. Sometimes your resources are overwhelmed and it's okay to need a helping hand. We offer you a complientary consultation either by phone or on your first visit to help you decide if this is the right place for you.

How many sessions do I need?

The length of time that you will be in counselling depends on you, how much work you're willing to put in, as well as the problems you're presenting with.

Is it normal to seek counselling?

Of course! There's still stigma, though we've come a long way. The truth is, everyone goes to counselling; even therapists do as a part of their training! There's no shame in asking for help.

What do I need to anticipate?

Therapy doesn't have to be a scary place, there's no judgement here. We understand it takes a lot of willpower and courage to discuss your life with a someone you don't know. We try to create a comfortable, serene place in our offices so you feel more at home.

You can expect that we will listen empathetically, and without judgement. We will ask you questions and provide insights, and we may give you homework to complete between sessions. The reason we do this is because we know that the REAL change happens in-between sessions, and that is based entirely on how much you work at creating that change.

What does therapy do?

It's a broad question and it depends what you're looking for. Therapy is a proactive approach to improve your wellbeing. Our services, groups, and workshops can help you better understand what you're going through as well as resources and solutions available to you.
