Do you have a child involved in house league, select, or travel league sports? Would you like to see your child athlete improve his/her mental mindset for success in the game?
Our Sports Sense program is designed to improve mental mindset in sport and is spearheaded by our very own Kathryn Simpson ,BA, MA (Candidate). Kathryn is an elite athlete, who played hockey for many years, and then lacrosse, which she played up to the National level and won a national championship with her team.
In addition to her first-hand experience with competitive sport, Kathryn has experience with youth and adults and supporting those encountering anxiety, depression, personal difficulties and self-esteem issues. Kathryn specializes in providing support to athletes. This includes athletes encountering anxiety, depression, personal difficulties, self-esteem issues and supporting individuals who desire to improve their mental approach in their game.
Kathryn supports client to recognize their strengths, apply coping strategies, communicate a personal narrative, adapt maladaptive cognitions and identify opportunities for growth. Kathryn believes you are your own expert and that the work she does with athletes is a collaborative process. She will apply flexibility to ensure the clients’ needs are appropriately met. Kathryn proves a welcoming and non-judgmental approach, valuing the connection with her clients.
